The Merchant Navy Association
The aims of the MNA are to remember those seafarers
of the Merchant Navy who died in the service of the
country; to remind the nation of our maritime heritage;
to look after the welfare of its members; and to foster
a spirit of comradeship amongst the members. It is not
solely an association for veterans but welcomes seafarers
of any age and particularly wishes to encourage young
people who show an interest in the sea. The MNA has
branches in England and Wales and links with similar
organisations in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Guernsey
and overseas. It is the only national organisation for
serving and former merchant seafarers. Membership of
the MNA is open to any person who has signed articles
under the Red or Blue ensigns with associate membership
offered to anybody who supports their aims and objectives.
